USB sticks and SD cards are the most popular media for storing and playing music files. A selection of our jobsite radios also have a USB and/or SD connection. You can use this to play your own music files (MP3 or WMA), wherever and whenever you want. In addition, you can also use the USB connection to charge your mobile phone or MP3 player.
Our jobsite radios with USB and SD (ROCKPRO 2, USBBOX 2 and ROCKHART) have been tested with various USB sticks and SD cards. These jobsite radios support USB sticks and SD cards up to 32 GB.
A USB stick or SD card must use the FAT16 or FAT32 file system in order to be able to work with our jobsite radios. MP3 files from 16kbps to 320kbps are supported, as are WMA files from 16kbps to 192kbps. Read more about USB sticks and SD cards here.
Advantage of SD card when used in the ROCKPRO 2 or USBBOX 2.
The advantage of using an SD card compared with a USB stick is that the SD card is fully inserted into the radio’s housing and can then be protected by the rubber cover and kept free of dust and moisture. Unlike the USB stick, which always protrudes from the housing and is therefore more liable to be damaged.
With the ROCKHART both the SD card and the USB stick are safely tucked away in the media compartment on the side of the radio.
